Spring Barn Wedding
at Owl & Olive in Chehalis, Washington
Savannah & Zack
Savannah and Zack’s wedding at the Barn at Owl & Olive in Chehalis, Washington was the perfect example of a relaxed, beautiful barn wedding done thoughtfully. With an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception, the day felt seamless, joyful, and full of intention. Savannah was one of the most organized brides I’ve ever worked with and it made my job that much more enjoyable!
The barn itself provided a stunning and inviting backdrop, and the weather truly couldn’t have been better. From the ceremony setup to the flow into the reception, every detail worked together to create a calm, enjoyable experience for both the couple and their guests.
Coordination Insight
One of the most important lessons from this wedding came from ceremony logistics. While the ceremony location was stunning, the walk for the bridal party included a long and not hidden gravel slope that wasn’t fully apparent until arriving onsite. This required quick decision-making and adjustments to ensure everyone arrived safely and comfortably.
Another note was a trick I learned at this wedding which is when you are setting up a reception area, pull all the chairs out from under the tables and make sure you can still walk through the spaces. I had to move half the tables at this wedding further into corners or get creative with the placement so that people would be able to walk to get their food, dance, get a drink, etc.
Takeaway for Couples
When planning an outdoor ceremony, it’s essential to think beyond aesthetics and consider how guests and the wedding party will physically move through the space. Having a coordinator onsite ensures these details are handled smoothly, even when last-minute changes are needed.
Savannah and Zack’s day was a reminder that thoughtful preparation paired with calm coordination makes all the difference.
