Rainy Fall Barn Wedding
Belle & Barn in Tenino, Washington
Jessy & Reece
Jessy and Reece’s wedding at Belle and Barn in Tenino, Washington was a true reminder that flexibility and patience can lead to unforgettable moments. This intimate fall wedding, with fewer than 100 guests, was an outdoor fall ceremony.
Just as the ceremony was set to begin, a torrential downpour rolled in, requiring the ceremony to be delayed by nearly an hour. With no alternative ceremony setup available due to the space and reception being already set up, we made the decision was made to wait it out.
Coordination Insight
This wedding marked my first experience delaying a ceremony after everyone was fully ready. Thanks to the incredible support of the venue owners who brought out towels, helped dry chairs, and were so helpful, the transition was smooth and stress-free.
Once the rain cleared, the ceremony took place in the backyard with dramatic hills, clouds, and a stunning post-rain backdrop that made the wait completely worthwhile.
Takeaway for Couples
Weather is one of the few things no one can control on a wedding day. Having a flexible mindset, a supportive venue, and a coordinator to guide decisions calmly can turn unexpected delays into meaningful, memorable moments.
Jessy and Reece’s wedding was a perfect example of why being prepared and adaptable matters just as much as the plan itself.
